Citizens Advice Bodmin office is relocating from the Shire Hall to the nearby Shire House from Monday 6 March.
The move from Shire Hall is necessary because of important repair works that have been identified by the building’s owners, Bodmin Town Council.
The move to Shire House is a temporary measure until permanent offices can be found in the town.
Citizens Advice Cornwall chief executive, Neil Colquhoun, said:
“We are fully committed to maintaining a full advice service for people in Bodmin and surrounding areas and we’re very grateful to the town council for their support in finding us temporary accommodation in Shire House.
“We will be looking for new offices in the area over the next few months.”
David Kinnair, Bodmin Town Council committee officer, said: ‘It is with regret that we have had to take the decision to temporarily relocate the Citizens Advice offices from the Shire Hall but our primary concern is for the health and wellbeing of the CA volunteers, employees and clients that visit the offices.
“We will continue to work with the Citizens Advice Cornwall during this time and thank them for their proactive assistance in this matter.’
The move to Shire House means advice sessions can only be made by appointment because of restricted space in the building.
To access the Citizens Advice Service or make an appointment, members of the public can text the word ADVICE to 78866 and an adviser will call back within 24 hours or the next working day. Alternatively, the service can be contacted on 03444-111444 Mondays to Fridays between 10am and 4pm.
Drop-in services continue to be available at CA Cornwall’s offices in Liskeard (21 Dean Street PL14 4AB) on Mondays from 10am to 12.15pm and in St Austell (39 Penwinnick Road PL25 5DR) on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10am to 12.15pm.
