John-Baker

John Baker

Trustee

I have worked in retail from 1973-2010 as a manager for a supermarket group and as proprietor of a village convenience store. On retiring from the above I felt that I still needed to be engaged in a worthwhile job and took on the position, for 12 months, as the manager of a small local charity. During this time I became aware of the essential services that charities provide and felt that I could offer, in a small part, some help in the running of a charity.
I am also an advocate for Age UK and do some fund raising for the Cornwall Hospice.
My partner Marnie and I both have a daughter each.
Other interests include gardening, property renovation and classic cars.

Jon-Paget

Jonathan Paget

Trustee

Jon Paget is a trustee with marketing and fundraising experience whose connection to Citizens Advice goes back to when he volunteered at a local bureau close to where he grew up. In a short space of time, the impact the Citizens Advice had on the local community really left its mark and Jon felt it was something he might return to. He’s now delighted to do just that as a trustee.

Jon's love of marketing started when he met an eccentric and brilliant lecturer whilst studying for his BSc at Loughborough. He's worked in marketing ever since for a number of travel and tech brands. He’s currently Marketing Director at a health-based tech start-up which is run to transform the lives of people living with cognitive and physical disabilities.
Jon also works as an Associate Lecturer of Marketing at Falmouth University and as a Non-Executive Director for an online retail business in Cornwall.
When he's not working, he's often getting lost on his bike.
