Citizens Advice Cornwall works with a wide range of organisations across Cornwall in providing free and confidential advice whoever you are and whatever challenge you face. This includes developing and extending our general advice service to a wider range of clients – adding value to partners’ activities by providing bespoke and tailored advice, and by signposting our clients to specialist support where it is needed.
Our partners include:
|Cornwall Council||Grants from Cornwall Council continue to fund our general advice service which is the bedrock activity of Citizens Advice Cornwall and powered by our volunteers. This is delivered across Cornwall through our text and call back service and our local offices and outreach facilities.
Children, Schools and Families
Specific funding from Children Schools and Families means that we provide targeted support to families through 14 of the Council’s network of Children's Centres.
|Macmillan||With funding from Macmillan our caseworkers, working alongside Macmillan themselves, provide specialist specialist benefits advice for anyone who has, or has had, a cancer diagnosis. We also advise family members and carers. We help with grants, benefit applications and appeals.|
|Money Advice Service||We have a team of six debt specialists working, as local delivery partners for the Money Advice Service, across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
This funding means that we provide advice on: strategies for debt including payment plans, full & final settlement, bankruptcy, Debt Relief Orders, and Individual Voluntary Agreements.
|Pension Wise||Citizens Advice Cornwall is funded as the local delivery partner for Pension Wise in Cornwall and North Devon. Pension Wise is the new government service that helps you go through your options, if you have a defined contribution pension, so that you can be informed and confident that decisions about your pension can be made that are best for you.|
|Cornwall Rural Community Council||Citizens Advice Cornwall is a delivery partner in CRCC’s ‘Get F+IT’ project. We bring added value by providing benefits and debt advice, where appropriate, to the course participants. The project is targeted at rurally isolated older people and provides advice and information on improving financial security, reducing fuel hardships and becoming more IT savvy.|
|Comic Relief||Comic Relief has provided three years funding, from July 2013, for the Cornwall Rural Community Council ‘Get F+IT’ project helping older people to build their confidence and knowledge when using computers and the internet. Our outreach workers visit people in their own home and check that they are receiving the benefits that they are entitled to and where necessary provide specialist debt advice.|
|Cornwall Community Foundation||Funding from the Cornwall Community Foundation (CCF) gives us the ability to give ‘Surviving Winter’ grants to our clients, where appropriate, to cover crisis payments for heating, insulation and hot meals.
CCF helps build stronger communities by encouraging local giving and in turn provides grant aid to make a real difference to the quality of life of the people and communities of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
